    the sun sets on some retired meadow，where no house is visible，with all the glory and splendor that it lavishes on cities，and，perchance，as it has never set before，——where there is but a solitary marsh-hawk to have his wings glided by it，or only a musquash looks out from his cabin，and there is some little black-veined brook in the midst of the marsh，just beginning to meander，winding slowly round a decaying stump.we walked in so pure and bright a light，gilding the withered grass and leaves，so softly and serenely bright，i thought i had never bathed in such a golden flood，without a ripple or a murmur to it.the west side of every wood and rising ground gleamed like a boundary of elysium，the sun on our backs seemed like a gentle herdsman driving us home at evening.
    so we saunter toward the holy land，till one day the sun shall shine more brightly than ever he has done，shall perchance shine into our minds and hearts，and light up our whole lives with a great awakening light，as warm and serene and golden as on a bankside in autumn.
    落照沉坠在一处窈窕草地上，不见一房一舍，唯有倾泻于城郭的好一派灿烂辉煌，或许以前夕阳从未在此坠落过，——这儿但见一只孤零零的白尾鹞，羽翼抹上一层金光，但见一只麝鼠从小棚里往外张望，沼泽中央有条黑幕遮掩似的溪流，刚刚蜿蜒而过，缓缓流过一块朽木。我们在这般清澈明媚的日光下漫步，枯草败叶都染上了金色，灿烂而显得柔和明净，想想自己还不曾沐浴在如此金潮之中，不起漪涟不闻喃喃。每处林木的西边和凸起的地面流光溢彩，宛如乐园的边际，夕阳在背好似和蔼的牧人晚间赶车送我们回家。
    我们就这样闲步走向圣地，直到有那么一天日光烨烨，前所未见，或许照耀到我们的思想感情，一道令人觉醒的光明点亮我们的全部生命，如同照在秋日岸坡上那般温暖明净金光灿烂。（未完待续）
